Formerly Parkland Fertilizers – Lacombe, the spring of 2017 joined Central Alberta Co-op to become one of their five crop inputs retail centers. They provide their patrons with exceptional customer service, agronomic support and offer many agricultural inputs – such as fertilizer, custom application services, crop protection products, as well as canola and forage seed. In addition to these products, Lacombe Co-op Agro has recently moved their office to the Lacombe Co-op Cardlock location, and so are now able to provide their customers with a wide array of petroleum products.
As a member-owned organization, Co-op is locally invested and dedicated to supporting the community, taking part in many community initiatives. Part of the foundation of the Co-operative Retailing System is to return profits to its members and invest in the communities it operates in.
One of the major programs that Central Alberta Coop very strongly supports is the 4-H program, with annual funding to the twenty-one 4-H clubs, three of which are located in the Lacombe area.
Central Alberta Co-op also supports numerous golf tournaments, minor hockey leagues, local clubs, non-profit organizations and community projects, with approximately 0.01% of the sales going to supporting these causes.
If Lacombe Co-op Agro were to win this year, funds would be donated to several important organizations that benefit Lacombe City and Lacombe County.
Emergency services, such as the Lacombe Fire Department, Alberta Health Services, Lacombe Victims Services, STARS Air Ambulance to name a few provide crucial aid in times of crisis and could benefit greatly from any donations. As well, community service groups (Lacombe Kinsmen, Rotary Club, FCSS etc.) play a key role in community development, and any funding is appreciated.
Supporting any one of these great causes would be a way for Central Alberta Coop to give back to the community and show their appreciation for their members and their families.
