Parkland Fertilizers, locally owned and operated, has been supporting and giving back to their Community for 40 years. You'll often find Parkland involved with various clubs, sporting events and local activities. Parkland has contributed to the local recreational centre, Health Foundation, seniors' home, Secret Santa and also raised awareness and funding for the Prostate Cancer Society. Many of Parkland Fertilizers' staff are very involved in the Community on an individual level volunteering with Culring, Gymnastics, 4-H, the Health Foundation and Community Engagement to name a few. Parkland has also taken it upon themselves over the past couple of years to share Agriculture with their Community. They have featured a blog following the journey of wheat on their website, held several ag-focused seminars (Ambassadors of Ag) and even offered public tours during the construction of their new facility. Parkland is proud to be an active part of the community.
Parkland Fertilizers would be able to expand their agriculture awareness program. They are already planning a special event to grow their Ambassadors of Agriculture seminar for Canada's Agriculture Day Feb 16th #CdnAgDay. They already have opportunity to connect with the schools to teach about agriculture and the career opportunities available in the industry. They are also the first in Alberta to launch SUSTAIN, an environmentally sustainable agriculture program, that will also increase Ag awareness and environemntal stewardship. As agriculture is a key component of the Wetaskiwin area, supporting the industry - agriculture, goes hand in hand with supporting the Community.
