Who is eligible for the contest?

To receive a grand prize, retails must be located in one of the following eligible provinces:

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be announced in March, 2017.

How will the winners be chosen?

Once voting closes, all entries will be evaluated by a judging panel. The total number of votes received will account for 50% of the final results. The remaining 50% will be judged based on the following criteria:

  1. Depiction of the nominated retail’s passion for and contribution to their community. (15%)
  2. Examples of actions or events that demonstrate a retail’s spirit and pride. (15%)
  3. Description of how the prize money would impact the nominated community and proposed project(s). (10%)
  4. Social media support i.e. a minimum of 100 shares accumulated by sharing the nomination through the nominees personal Facebook and/or Twitter page. (5%)
  5. Creativity and effort. (5%)

Who can submit a nomination?

Anyone with a valid email address can submit a nomination. Please keep in mind, the quality of your submission is a major factor in determining the winner, so those with a strong relationship with their retail, namely growers, are at an advantage when describing the performance of their nominee.

Can I nominate an ag retail outside of my community?

Yes! If you know of an ag retail in any of the eligible provinces that deserves to win, nominate them.

What happens when I submit a nomination form?

Once you submit your nomination, it will be sent to ADAMA for approval. If your nomination is approved, your retail will be added to the list of nominees on the website and be given its own individual nomination page.

Can I edit my nomination once I’ve submitted it?

No, once your nomination is submitted, you will not be able to edit it, so please make sure your nomination is the best it can be!

Can I nominate a retail that has already been nominated?

Retails can be nominated multiple times, but ADAMA will only approve one nomination per retail. To improve your chances, get in contact with your retail and other customers to create the best nomination possible.

How do I vote for an organization?

Visit the nominees page at ThankARetailer.ca/nominees. Click on the nominee you want to vote for and follow the prompts. You will need a valid email address in order to vote.

How many times can I vote?

You can vote a maximum of once per day. Be sure to mention this when encouraging others to vote!

How can I get people to vote for my retail?

Once the contest opens on November 21, 2016, you will be able to nominate and vote for your retail. The sooner your retail is nominated, the sooner you can rally your community to start collecting votes. Be sure to post about it on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtag #ThankARetailer so we can share your posts and help you spread the word.
